Ein Digitales Geländemodell (DGM) beschreibt die natürliche Geländeform der Erdoberfläche durch georeferenzierte Höhenpunkte. Objekte wie z. B. Vegetation und Gebäude werden nicht dargestellt. Gebäude und Brücken werden nicht berücksichtigt. Die Höhenpunkte sind regelmäßig angeordnete Gitterpunkte mit einer bestimmten Gitterweite. Das DGM10 hat eine Gitterweite von 10 m.
